Colm O'Cochlain is the Managing Partner of the Practice with experience in all areas of General Practice to include Litigation, Conveyancing, Probate & Wills, Employment Law, Family Law and Landlord and Tenant Law. Colm has expertise in providing solutions to clients’ legal problems and has developed the practice to offer legal advice and expertise in a friendly and cost effective manner.
Jillian O’Shea is Head of our Litigation Department.
Jillian trained with Colm O’Cochlain & Company Solicitors. She has since gained over eight years qualified experience representing clients before the District, Circuit and Superior Courts. She specialises in personal injuries actions arising out of Road Traffic Accidents, Accidents at Work & Public Liability Accidents as well as Medical Negligence actions. She has extensive knowledge of the Injuries Board process and Court Practice & Procedure. Jillian also advises clients and provides representation in relation Family Law matters, Debt Collection, Commercial Litigation, Defamation and Licensing matters.
Lorraine graduated from UCD with an Honours Bachelor Degree in Business and Legal Studies in 2001. She was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in January 2006. Lorraine joined the firm in August 2016 having previously worked for a number of Dublin firms as well as one of the country’s largest financial institutions. Lorraine has extensive experience in running both residential and commercial transactions. She advises clients in relation to property matters including selling, buying and re-mortgaging residential and commercial property, as well as Landlord and Tenant issues
Anne is a graduate from Dublin City University. She trained with Colm O’Cochlain & Company Solicitors qualifying as a solicitor in December 2010 and subsequently trained with a top 10 Accountancy firm and qualifying as a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) in 2012. She worked in a boutique private client tax firm for a number of years before returning to Colm O’Cochlain & Company Solicitors in 2017. Anne specialises in personal estate and tax planning, wills and succession, probate and the administration of estates and contentious probate and private client disputes.. She advises on transfer of all assets, the creation of all forms of trust with particular emphasis on asset protection trusts and discretionary trusts for incapacitated beneficiaries. Anne also advises on enduring powers of attorney and wardship. Anne holds a Diploma in Trust and Estate Planning and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Ireland.
Barra was educated at UCD where he obtained a BCL. He commenced work as a solicitor in Daire Walsh and Co in Merrion Square, specialising in conveyancing. In 1985 he worked as a Stagiare in Peter Sutherland’s cabinet in Brussels, in competition law. In 1988 he obtained a Diploma in European Law. He has worked as a solicitor since 1985 in Tallaght. He is an active member of the DSBA litigation committee and the DSBA representative on the Superior Court Users Committee which liaises between the Courts service and the Dublin Bar Association. He speaks German French and Spanish and lives in Dublin with his wife Aisling and three children. He specialises in litigation, both personal injury and commercial.
Sorcha qualified with an honours Law degree together with a degree in History and German and qualified as a solicitor in 2002. Sorcha specialises in Litigation and has a large portfolio of Defence and Plaintiff litigation. Sorcha works closely with a renowned insurance company in defending insurance claims. She has an extensive client base of Plaintiff clients in areas such as personal injuries, medical negligence, professional negligence, debt collection, breach of contract. She also specialises in Employment Law with substantial experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment law issues having acted on behalf of employer and employees. Sorcha is also an appointed Notary Public.
Odran Rochford joined Colm O'Cochlain and Company in January 2011 and has over 20 years experience in general practice. Odran specialises in Wills and Probate and Road Traffic Offences.
Damien specialises in Conveyancing, Probate and Private Client. He has been providing legal advice on all aspects of property transactions throughout the years and his vast experience gives clients a confident peace of mind. He provides clients with the legal guidance and practical know-how to help them with their property transactions.
Jenny has been employed by Colm O’Cochlain and Company Solicitors since we opened our office in August 2004. Since then she gained valuable experience in our Conveyancing Department. Jenny looks after house sales, re-mortgages and house purchases along with our Conveyancing Department. Whether you are buying, re-mortgaging or selling Jenny is committed to providing a client focused efficient and effective service.
Pamela Minogue has been with Colm O’Cochlain since 2014, she has over 20 years’ experience in dealing with conveyancing issues. She has specific expertise in working with purchasers and vendors on new developments. She has a valuable array of experience and knowledge in the conveyancing department and is a valued member of the team.
Elaine joined the firm in 2018 and brings with her over 15 years legal experience. Elaine is part of our Litigation Department working alongside Jillian O’Shea and Barra O’Cochlain. Elaine’s role focuses on dealing with Personal Injuries claims process.
Jacqueline graduated from National University of Ireland Galway in 2017 with an International Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies and French. She then went on to complete the LLB Postgraduate Degree in National University of Ireland Galway graduating in 2018. Jacqueline joined our team in July 2018 and has taken on the role of assisting Barra O’Cochlain and Jillian O’Shea in our litigation department. Jacqueline works mainly with personal injuries claims and specialises in the Injures Board process.
Lauren trained as a legal secretary at Rathmines College and since has went on to complete a Diploma in Professional Legal studies at Griffith College, Dublin. She has been working in the Legal Sector since 2008 in many areas including reception, secretarial and legal clerical work. Lauren first joined the firm in November 2013 and worked as our receptionist for 3 years. She re-joined the company in 2018 and is now part of the Conveyancing team. Lauren has extensive experience having worked in a number of legal firms in many different areas law. Lauren is highly focused on customer service and communication with our clients.
Sarah-Jane joined our team in 2016 as our Receptionist and a year later, moved to the conveyancing department as Legal Secretary to Lorraine Kane Solicitor. Sarah- Jane’s role focuses on liaising with client’s, solicitors and banks to ensure transactions are progressed efficiently. She handles various legal, finance and administration matters; as well as any queries our client’s may have with regards to property transactions.
Karen completed a Legal Administration course in Rathmines College in 2018. She then went on to work as a legal secretary for Kelly & Griffin Solicitors. In 2019 our office began merging with Kelly & Griffin Solicitors. Karen joined our team later that year and has since taken on a role assisting Jillian & Barra in our litigation department. Karen’s work focuses mainly on the Injuries Board process.
Niamh joined Colm O’Cochlain in 2018 as an administrator. She has recently graduated from Maynooth University with an LLB degree. She has taken on the role of assisting the conveyancing department where her role focuses on liaising with clients, banks and solicitor’s offices to help keep communication and the overall conveyancing process flowing.
Fatima has a strong background in the finance industry where she worked as client liaison for an investment firm dealing regulator and compliance affairs. She joined our company in 2018 where she works in conveyancing department. She is responsible with liaising with the Property Registration Authority as well as dealing with undertakings from both solicitors and financial institutions effectively managing the completion of the sale/purchase processes.
Lauren joined Colm O’Cochlain in 2017 as an Administrator. Her role focuses on liaising with clients, banks and solicitor’s offices to help keep communication and the overall conveyancing process flowing. Lauren recently graduated from Trinity College Dublin, with a degree in Law and Political Science. Lauren has previous customer service experience and has gained many transferable skills from her previous jobs. Lauren works closely with all members of the conveyancing team and also provides additional support in other areas of the company.
